Children's Program

Our approach to martial arts instruction for children involves developing them both physically and mentally. Developing confidence, good judgment and self discipline are critical to success.  Every parent wants their child to do the right thing (even when no one is watching), and we work hard with our young students to help parents make that a reality.  In addition to the Student Creed and 8 Virtues of a Black Belt, we employ various tools to achieve our goals, and to develop students into confident, disciplined, leaders of tomorrow.

Academic Superstar Program

This is an award system available to all enrolled students. To participate the student simply turns in his or her report card. If the report card demonstrates that the student has been showing good effort at school, then he or she is awarded a patch that is sewn onto the right shoulder of their uniform. On the second good report card, the student will receive a smaller patch in the form of a red star to be sewn near the Academic Superstar patch. This award system provides recognition of a job well done for all students who participate, and achieve their academic goals.

S.T.O.R.M. Program ("Special Team of Role Models")
This program develops students into the leaders of today and tomorrow.  STORM members attend special training classes designed to develop mentoring skills, expand their knowledge of Uechi Ryu and its core values, and teach them the skills necessary to lead a class of junior students.  STORM members develop responsibility, leadership, confidence and a positive self-image that will help them now and in the future.
